Angelika Rampal, M.D., received her undergraduate degree from Stanford and attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego. She completed her residency and was chief resident at UCLA Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Angel, as she is known to her patients, spent much of her early career involved in international health and in the education of medical students and residents. She has spent time working and volunteering in many countries, including, Haiti, Nepal, India and Guatemala. Her interests in cross cultural medicine and nutrition shape her views on medicine. She now works in private practice. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has an additional board certification in integrative and holistic medicine.
Dr. Angel was born in Germany and raised all over the United States by her Indian-American parents. She has lived in the Midwest, the East Coast and the South but she is a California girl at heart. At her Indian and American mixed wedding, her husband rode in on an elephant, and in speeches, her friends described her as having an “Oprah personality.” Her “Stedman” is a technology executive whose company ensures that websites are accessible to people with disabilities. They have a daughter whose name means reflection in Hindi, named so because she is a reflection of so many different people, cultures and experiences.
Dr. Angel currently lives in McLean, VA and practices at Reston Town Center Pediatrics.
